Why add-ons exist
Sometimes the job isn't what the address suggested: the car is 30 feet down an embankment, all four wheels are locked, the destination changed on the way. Those need a winch, dollies, or more miles — and cost more.
How it works
- The driver proposes the add-on in the app with a price and a note.
- You get a text and a prompt on your tracking page: approve or decline.
- Nothing is charged until you approve. If you decline, the driver does what can be done at the quoted price, or the job is cancelled with no add-on charged.
Approved add-ons show as their own lines on your receipt and are charged at completion.
Published vs unpublished
Every company publishes its add-on prices; you saw them under the quote before you chose. A proposal that matches the published list is exactly what you'd expect. One that isn't on the list is flagged to you as unpublished so you can ask why. Companies are told that unpublished proposals get declined more, which keeps the list honest.
The driver did extra work without asking
They can't charge for it. Add-ons must be proposed and approved in the app before they're performed to be billed. If you're charged for something you didn't approve, open a dispute.
