What we store in your browser
Towhub uses a small number of cookies and browser storage items. None of them are advertising trackers. We use two analytics tools to understand how the site is used; they're described below.
Essential cookies (always on)
sb-*-auth-token— your session with our authentication provider (Supabase). Set when you request a tow, sign in, or create an account, so the page knows it's you. Expires with the session or when you sign out.- Stripe may set cookies on its own domains when you enter a card, for fraud prevention. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Preferences (local storage, on your device only)
empac-theme— light or dark theme.towhub-dispatch-alerts— whether a dispatcher turned on sound/desktop alerts.
Third-party services that load on some pages
- Google Maps on pages with a map. Google may set cookies according to its own policies.
Analytics
- Plausible Analytics — privacy-focused page-view counts. It sets no cookies and doesn't identify you.
- Google Analytics 4 — page views and basic events (for example, that a request was submitted, never its contents). Google sets
_gaand_ga_*cookies to tell returning browsers apart, for up to two years. We have IP anonymization and Google Signals (ads personalization) turned off. To opt out, use Google's opt-out browser add-on or block cookies fromgoogle-analytics.com.
Your choices
You can block or clear cookies in your browser. Blocking the essential session cookie means you can't request a tow or sign in. Local storage preferences can be cleared the same way.
Towhub currently operates only in the United States, where the cookies above don't require a consent banner. If we expand somewhere that requires one, we'll ask before setting analytics cookies.
Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy. The version date at the top changes when we do.
