Help · Running a tow company on Towhub

The dispatch board

Offers, accepting and declining, assigning drivers and trucks, alerts, reliability strikes.

The board

Dispatch is the live view: quotes out, offers waiting for your answer, active jobs, your crew and trucks, and a map. It updates in real time; turn on Alerts to get a chime and a browser notification when a customer picks your quote, even with the tab in the background.

Offers

When a customer chooses your quote you have a short window to Accept or Decline. Accepting places the hold on the customer's card and creates the job; you can assign a driver and truck right there, or later. Declining asks for a reason the customer sees ("no truck available", "too far") so they can pick another company immediately.

Transport orders from businesses arrive as a lot — Accept all takes every vehicle at once.

Assigning

Each job shows a suggested driver: closest, on shift, not already busy. Use it or pick from the list. With auto-assign on (Settings → Dispatch), accepted jobs go to the top suggestion automatically when nobody picks.

Moving a job along

Drivers advance status from their phone; dispatch can too. Every status change is timestamped and, when the driver's phone is sharing, stamped with a position. Board shows the same jobs as a Kanban you can drag.

Cancelling after you accepted

Pick a reason. Some reasons are on you — crew unavailable, took another job, too far — and count as a reliability strike. Three strikes in 30 days pause your offers for 24 hours; the customer is told and re-picks. Cancelling because the customer was unreachable, gave wrong information, asked you to, or the job was unsafe is recorded but doesn't count. Customers are never charged when you cancel.

On-time record

Customers see your on-time rate (arrived within the quoted ETA) once you have five jobs in 90 days, and the default quote order weighs it. Update the status honestly — an ETA you'll miss is better told than discovered.
