Checking a vehicle in
From a job (or on its own), Into storage creates an impound record: vehicle, why it's held (private property, police, abandoned, customer request), where it is in your lot, and your rates — daily storage, tow, admin fee, free hours.
The clock
The record shows what's owed right now and updates daily. Storage law varies by state; the notices checklist on each impound tracks the owner notification, lienholder letter and auction notice with the dates you sent them, so the file is ready if it's ever questioned.
Release
When someone comes to claim the vehicle, the release form captures who, their ID, what was paid and a signature on the phone or the office screen. The signed release and an itemized storage receipt print from the record and stay on file.
Reports
The Impound page lists everything in storage, oldest first, with days held and balance. Vehicles past the notice deadlines are flagged on the attention strip.
