Help · Running a tow company on Towhub

Inbox: customer messages

One thread per job, shared by dispatch and the driver; quick replies; what the customer gets; who sees it.

Every customer conversation, one per job

Inbox lists every customer who has messaged about a job — newest activity first, unread count in the sidebar. Open one and you'll see the job's status, the assigned driver, the customer's number, and the conversation. Reply from there, or tap Open job for the full record.

Whoever answers, the customer sees one thread. The driver replies from the job card on their phone; dispatch replies here. Both of you see everything, so nobody has to relay a gate code.

What the customer gets

Replies land on their tracking page and go out as a text to the number on the request. Your company name is on every message — never a personal number.

Quick replies

The buttons above the reply box are one-tap answers for the questions you get most: driver ETA, confirming the vehicle's location, running late. Tap one and it sends. Anything else, type it.

Who sees the inbox

Owners, admins, dispatchers and the support role. Drivers see only the threads on jobs assigned to them, from their job card. Accounting doesn't see it.

Closing a thread

Close hides a conversation from the Open list; a new message from the customer reopens it automatically. Closed threads stay on the job forever — every message is part of the job's activity log, which is what a dispute is decided on.

Messages from Towhub

If a customer contacts Towhub support about one of your jobs, we'll message you here or text your dispatch number with a link. Support conversations with Towhub are separate from your customer threads.

Texting

Customers who text the Towhub number about an active job will show up in the same threads once carrier registration is complete; until then, they reply on the tracking link.
